CATALOGUE OF THE PUBLISHING HOUSE OF THE "ST. ST. CYRIL AND METHODIUS" NATIONAL LIBRARY

THE PUBLISHING HOUSE
The National Library of Bulgaria began
its publishing activity on July 12, 1954,

with the establishment of a Scientific
Council, which approved the first
publishing plans for 1954 and 1955,

laying the foundation for the library's
future publications.

During this period, a small
printing house and bindery
were set up in the library

building, making it the only
library in the country with

its own printing base.

Nowadays, the editorial and printing
department ensure the printing of all
publications of the National Library.

Additionally, the printing base has
the capacity to fulfill orders for both
companies and private individuals.

Since 2018, the National

library has also been
producing e-publications
in various formats,

providing greater access
to its rich collections.

The National Library's publishing

output is characterized by a variety
of publications and the specialized

library periodical journal
"Biblioteka", which comes in
6 issues per year.
